BaSICS

You Stepped Up. Now Let’s Go.

You didn’t sign up to play it safe. You volunteered to lead men into battle—spiritually, emotionally, and physically. That’s no small thing.
But let’s be clear:
We’re not asking you to be a Bible scholar, a therapist, or a life coach. We’re asking you to show up, lead with guts, and give a rip about the guys in your crew.
If you’re ready to lead from the front, you’re gonna crush this. Read on. Got questions after that? Hit us up.

BEFORE CAMP: YOUR MISSION STARTED YESTERDAY

You’re not waiting until boots hit the dirt. Leadership starts now.
Here’s how to get moving before you even pack your bag:
Reach out to your guys. Text them. Call them. Meet up if they’re local. Talk gear. Share your excitement. Build some pre-camp buzz—and maybe coordinate your meal choices so no one shows up with just beanie weenies and vienna sausage.
Pray like it matters—because it does. Pray for your guys by name every single day. Ask God to show up, speak loud, and shake the ground under their feet.

DURING CAMP: THIS IS YOUR MOMENT

The talking's done. It’s time to lead like it matters.
Love the guys in your unit. Every man is carrying something. Shame. Father wounds. Doubt. Be the guy who sees it and shows up with strength and grace.
This is what spiritual fathering looks like—it’s not about age, it’s about heart.
Lead by example. Be the first in. First to serve. First to sweat. First to speak up.
Set the tone by how you show up, not just what you say.
Sacrifice your comfort for their breakthrough. This weekend isn’t about you anymore. You signed up to carry the weight so they can drop theirs.
Pay attention. Know what your guys are battling. Take mental notes. By the fire, you’ll have the chance to speak life into each one. Make it count.

FIRE TIME: THE REAL WORK HAPPENS HERE

This is sacred ground. Don’t rush it. Don’t fake it. Lead with raw, honest faith.
Go first. Your vulnerability unlocks theirs. Set the tone. Kill the B.S.
Tell stories, not sermons. Preaching shuts guys down. Stories invite them in.
Balance grace with truth. Jesus did both. So can you.
Ask real questions. You don’t need all the answers—just the courage to ask what matters.
Listen like a brother. Eyes up. Mouth shut. Be present.
Be sensitive to God’s voice. If He nudges you to speak up—do it. If He gives you a word, scripture, or question, trust it. Lead bold.

AFTER CAMP: DON’T GHOST YOUR GUYS

The fire doesn’t stop Sunday. Keep it burning:
Keep praying for your crew as they head back to the chaos of real life.
Reconnect as a unit. Remind them of the wins, the breakthroughs, the laughs—and check in on anything they committed to.
Follow up one-on-one. Buy coffee. Grab wings. Dig deeper. Be that guy who follows through.
Keep the tribe together. If your group clicks, keep the fire going. Set up monthly hangs. Bible, burgers, group chats, or bonfires—just stay connected.

THE SPIRITUAL JOURNEY

Every man is on one—including you.
Some are running hard after God.
Some are standing still, staring at the mess.
Some are sprinting the other way, hoping no one notices.
Doesn’t matter where they are—it matters that you know.

At Man Up Adventure Camp, we’re not here to hand out spiritual report cards. But if you want to lead your crew well, you’ve got to have eyes to see where each man is on his journey.
You don’t need to label it or preach it.
Just pay attention.
Know the terrain they’re walking through—so you can walk with them, not just talk at them.
This isn’t about having all the answers.
It’s about being present, real, and ready to help each guy take one bold step closer to Jesus—wherever they’re starting from.
Because a man who knows where he is...
can finally see where he’s going.
